Moritz Gessner: The fermion sector of the SMEFT from asymptotically safe gravity

We study the renormalization group flow of four-fermion interactions of Weyl fermions in quantum gravity. These interactions correspond to dimension-six-interactions of the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT). Identifying a previously suspected symmetry for the fermionic sector, we can categorize the SMEFT couplings into asymptotically free and asymptotically interacting. These categories also determine, structurally, which type of SMEFT operators could in principle provide relevant parameters.
